Description

Spencer’s Field – glass painting.  Hung in the window against natural light

Spencer’s field is my favourite field. It is behind Hunworth Village Hall, 320yards from my home. It rolls away from you in the most beautiful way.  I snapped this pheasant peeping out of the young barley in 2020 and made it into a glass painting.  The pheasant’s head and larger barley leaves are laminated glass shards that have been glued on.

Hand painted on glass using glass paints (ground glass and lead oxides), took twenty hours, then fired in the kiln at 620 degrees centrigrade, four firings.

32cm x 27cm.  Framed with half inch lead came. Hung in the window in natural light.
