Goldfinch in Norfolk Verge – glass painting. Hung in the window against natural light
This was SOLD in 2020 to a collector in Norwich, after it was shortlisted for the Holt Festival John Hurt Art prize exhibition.
I love Norfolk birds and Norfolk verges and Norfolk fields.
Hand painted on glass using glass paints (ground glass and lead oxides), took twenty hours, then fired in the kiln at 620 degrees centrigrade, four firings. Glass jewel suspended in front of the panel on copper wire additions. Red glass pieces glued to the reverse.
32cm x 27cm. Framed with copper frame and copper wire additions.
